The Stables

The former family home of HÁM's Nick and Pamela Cox, a converted stable block in Oxfordshire. The building has been opened up to create a generous open-plan living and kitchen space, with panelled ceilings and a calm backdrop that lets their collections do the talking.

Nick and Pamela have spent a lifetime collecting — ceramics, antiques, art and objects gathered from fairs, markets and salerooms. Staffordshire figures, Spode, Coalport, Majolica, Moorish pottery — pieces chosen not for display but for the joy of living with them. Warm pinks and neutrals run through every room, a backdrop that lets the colour and character of each piece come forward.

Elegant and practical, surprising and never too serious — this is a home that proves great design is really about living well and loving where you are. For Nick and Pamela, that has always been the point. And after forty years of collecting, it shows.
